Born in the 1840s, Marxism-Leninism was established as a scientific and revolutionary ideology of the working class, reflecting the objective laws of human society's development. Despite nearly two centuries of development, the core values of this doctrine remain relevant and possess profound methodological significance. In Vietnam, Marxism-Leninism has been creatively adopted and continuously supplemented and developed to suit the specific historical conditions of the nation. The practical experience of the Vietnamese revolution has demonstrated the immense role of this doctrine in the national liberation struggle, as well as in the building and development of the country. Along with Ho Chi Minh Thought, Marxism-Leninism has become a solid ideological foundation, serving as a guiding principle for all the Party's policies and the State's laws and regulations.
Marxist-Leninist philosophy is one of the three fundamental components of Marxism-Leninism and a compulsory course in the national education system. With a duration of 3 credits (45 hours), the course is widely taught at universities and colleges nationwide. The course content equips students with a dialectical materialist worldview and methodology, thereby contributing to the formation of a firm ideological stance. At the same time, the course helps students develop scientific thinking, enhance their ability to understand the essence of things, and comprehensively analyze and evaluate economic, political, cultural, social phenomena and contemporary events in a global context.
Stemming from the core objective of the Marxist-Leninist Philosophy course, which is to equip students with a dialectical materialist worldview and scientific methodology, lecturers at Van Hien University, in particular, focus not only on imparting theoretical knowledge but also on developing students' critical thinking skills. Based on this, lecturers emphasize training presentation skills and critical thinking, aiming to cultivate the ability to independently analyze and evaluate social phenomena. This development of critical thinking skills enables students to correctly identify the nature of current issues in the context of globalization, while simultaneously enhancing their ability to resist the distorted narratives of hostile forces. Through this, learners not only strengthen their ideological stance but also actively participate in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, contributing to inheriting and promoting the patriotic tradition and the spirit of struggle for national independence and freedom.
In the current context, online scams on social media platforms are becoming increasingly sophisticated and complex, primarily due to the rapid development of digital technology coupled with limitations in awareness and analytical skills among some students. Essentially, malicious actors often exploit students' lack of life experience and ability to identify misinformation to carry out their fraudulent activities. Given this situation, strengthening the teaching, learning, and research of Marxism-Leninism at Van Hien University is of particular importance, contributing to equipping students with a scientific worldview and methodology. This helps students improve their thinking skills, their ability to identify the essence of social issues, proactively protect themselves from risks in the digital environment, and simultaneously strengthen their ideological stance and social responsibility, contributing the energy of youth to the rising era of the Vietnamese nation.
