In the first semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, students majoring in Public Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Van Hien University, participated in an innovative course designed to redefine the learning of English for Specific Purposes (ESP). Through dynamic group presentations conducted entirely in English, the course transformed the traditional classroom into an interactive and inspiring environment for communication, creativity, and self-expression.

The student groups confidently delivered presentations on topics central to the Public Relations field, such as “The Role of Public Relations,” “Marketing and PR,” and “Spreading Information.” This task-based approach allowed learners to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world settings while improving their speaking fluency, critical thinking, teamwork, and media literacy. The classroom atmosphere was lively and intellectually engaging, showing that English, in today’s PR landscape, functions not only as a communication tool but also as a bridge to global professional connections.

Each group displayed outstanding preparation, conducting research, designing visual slides, and presenting with confidence and poise. The sessions combined academic rigor with creativity and collaboration, striking a balance between scholarly discipline and learner enjoyment.

Beyond linguistic competence, the project fostered essential soft skills, including collaboration, leadership, and intercultural communication. Students reported increased self-confidence, a greater sense of belonging, and stronger motivation to pursue English as a lifelong asset in their professional journey.
This pedagogical initiative exemplifies Van Hien University’s commitment to student-centered, experience-based learning, where the classroom becomes a space for connection, creativity, and holistic development. It serves as a model for future ESP courses across disciplines, empowering learners not just to speak English but to use English as a voice for identity, professionalism, and change.
