Students majoring in Public Relations at Van Hien University have demonstrated strong academic effort, proactiveness, and openness to innovation during the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year. This is a crucial period when the volume of specialized knowledge increases significantly, requiring students not only to have a solid theoretical foundation but also to develop practical skills, creative thinking, and adaptability to today’s media landscape.
Immersed in the active and dynamic learning activities of Public Relations students in the second semester of the 2025-2026 academic year, various subjects were taught, including the course "Diplomatic Service," with students from classes 252PUR43720, 252PUR43712, 252PUR43717, etc., participating in this course.
Because this is a highly applied subject, lecturers often combine theory and practice.
Lecturers not only present concepts such as diplomatic etiquette, negotiation, protocol, etc., but also provide specific case studies for students to analyze.
Examples: handling diplomatic crises, receiving heads of state, or negotiating agreements, etc. Case study analysis: Lecturers use events from diplomatic history (e.g., Geneva Agreement, diplomatic crises…) to:
• Analyze the decisions of the parties involved in negotiations
• Draw practical lessons
By applying different teaching methods, students are encouraged to learn more actively by clearly understanding the purpose of "learning for what." From there, students can:
• Connect the lessons to real-world work: embassies, consulates, international organizations, multinational corporations
• Analyze and assess ongoing diplomatic situations in the world
→ Once they see the high applicability, students tend to be more proactive.
Another noteworthy aspect is the improvement in students’ self-study habits and personal development through innovative teaching methods that combine theory and practice. Lecturers have created an engaging and supportive learning environment. Rather than relying solely on traditional teaching approaches, lecturers adopt project-based learning methods, encouraging students to explore, research, and present their own ideas.
Despite these advantages, students also face various challenges during this semester, these challenges serve as motivation for students to build resilience, strengthen their determination, and develop a strong sense of responsibility.
The second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year marks an important milestone for Public Relations students at Van Hien University, highlighting their remarkable effort and growth. With a positive learning mindset, proactive knowledge acquisition, and a continuous drive for self-improvement, students are gradually establishing their position in the media industry. The experiences gained during this semester serve not only as a solid academic foundation but also as valuable preparation for confidently stepping into the future.
In general, the subject of Diplomatic Service equips students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes to adapt to the international work environment, while opening up many career opportunities in fields such as diplomacy, international business, communication, and public relations.
