On the morning of October 11, 2025, the International Relations program, under the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities – Van Hien University, organized a field trip to Nha Rong Wharf and the Ton Duc Thang Museum. The activity was part of the course “Vietnam’s Foreign Policy”, aiming to help students gain a deeper understanding of the spirit of patriotism, international vision, and humanitarian values embodied in Vietnam’s foreign policy.
At Nha Rong Wharf, where President Hồ Chí Minh embarked on his journey to seek a way to liberate the nation, students relived the proud historical moments and felt the strong desire for independence, freedom, and early international integration that shaped his ideology. These ideals laid the foundation for Vietnam’s steadfast foreign policy of “independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, and development” that the country continues to uphold today.
Continuing the journey at the Ton Duc Thang Museum, students learned about the life, character, and revolutionary career of President Ton Duc Thang, the first head of state of a unified Vietnam. Through the visit, they gained a deeper understanding of proletarian internationalism, the spirit of solidarity, and the close connection between the Vietnamese revolution and the global revolutionary movement — a key theme in studying Vietnam’s early foreign policy.
The field trip not only provided valuable learning experiences but also served as a vivid lesson in Vietnam’s history, culture, and people within the context of international integration. Though the journey came to an end, its impact remained deeply felt — not merely as an extracurricular activity, but as a lesson in ideals, faith, and responsibility for young Vietnamese in the era of globalization: to inherit the nation’s patriotic tradition, preserve cultural identity, and actively engage with the world.
Let’s take a look back at some highlight moments from the trip:
