On June 28, 2026, the Psychology Club, in collaboration with the Literature & Art Club, successfully organized a program on applying literature in psychotherapy with the theme: "Bibliotherapy: When Literature is Medicine for the Soul".
The program was accompanied by Dr. Hoang Minh Phu – Lecturer in the Department of Psychology and Advisor to the Psychology Club, and Dr. Le Duong Khac Minh – Lecturer in the Department of Literature and Advisor to the Literature & Art Club. With profound and practical insights, the two speakers helped students better understand the role of literature in mental health care, as well as in recognizing and regulating emotions.
This was not only an academic program but also a space where literature became a bridge connecting people with deep emotions within their souls. Through pages of books, stories, and characters, attendees had the opportunity to reflect on themselves, understand their emotions, and nurture empathy for those around them. In a cozy and inspiring atmosphere, hundreds of students shared, listened, and connected with the humane values that literature brings.
At the program, students were able to:
Enjoy colorful contemporary dance performances, rich in human values and bringing various emotional levels.
Listen to profound and meaningful sharing from Dr. Hoang Minh Phu and Dr. Le Duong Khac Minh regarding the role of literature in healing and mental health care.
A standout activity of the program was the analysis of a short film adapted from contemporary literature from a psychological perspective. Through this, attendees gained a deeper understanding of the work while identifying psychological trauma, learning to empathize, and witnessing the healing and soul-nurturing role of literature.
Participating in activities such as watching films, sharing impressions about character traits and personalities, writing letters to themselves, and discussing literary works under the guidance of the speakers helped each individual better understand their own emotions and inner thoughts.
The program was not just an interdisciplinary academic forum but also affirmed the University's commitment to students' mental health. The application of literature in psychotherapy not only opened opportunities for individuals to untangle their inner struggles but also to find empathy, heal themselves, and connect with new friends who share similar interests.
In the coming time, the Psychology House will continue to bring many meaningful activities and programs to spread the value of mental health. The club hopes to continue receiving the companionship of teachers, students, and all Members and Collaborators in the upcoming journeys.
