On the afternoon of 24th April 2025, at Tran Hung Dao Hall, Hung Hau Campus, the insightful and inspiring program titled “Untold Stories of the Event Industry”, with the theme “Event Management in Practice: Translating Theory into Professional Competence”, took place with the participation of experienced guest speakers, faculty board members, lecturers, and 300 students from various departments.
The event featured distinguished guest speakers, including Catwalk Designer and Director Khang Le, journalist MSc. Nguyen Le Thi Anh Nhu, and MSc. Nguyen A Say, Director of the Digital Information Center. Drawing on their extensive experience and genuine enthusiasm for the event industry, the speakers shared vivid and authentic stories that inspired and ignited a deep passion for the field among all participating VHUers.
According to the speakers, newcomers to event management must be willing to try, to make mistakes, and to truly love the craft. Skills can be learned, but initiative and a “fighter spirit” are what determine whether you can endure in the industry. The event industry is far from the glamorous appearance it may present. It requires a strong ability to observe the big picture, manage risks, coordinate teams, and stay composed under any circumstances. Especially, a great leader is not only a decision-maker but also a companion, a guide, and a source of positive energy for the team.
The speakers also emphasized that not every event goes as planned, but that doesn’t mean failure. What matters is how you perceive the experience, learn from it, and move forward. If you want to stand out in this field, you not only need to be good but must become the “One and Only” version of yourself – unique, distinctive, and irreplaceable.
