Lunar New Year is a time for families to gather and celebrate together. Yet amid the bustling city, there are still quiet corners where low-income workers and homeless individuals struggle with worries about warm clothes, daily meals, and a simple Tet unlike any other.
Moved by this understanding, the project “Gói Ấm Tết” (Warm Tet Packages), initiated by Multimedia Communication students, was launched with the aim of delivering practical gifts while spreading compassion and a spirit of humanity throughout the community.
The project goes beyond gift-giving activities. It also focuses on listening, documenting, and retelling authentic everyday stories filled with resilience from people who quietly make a living in the heart of the city.
The journey of “Gói Ấm Tết” is structured around three main stages:
+ Communication and outreach, connecting people and calling for community empathy;
+ Listening and sharing, recording real-life stories rich in human values;
+ Direct Tet gift distribution, bringing warmth to those in difficult circumstances.
A key highlight of the project lies in connecting people through stories. When a story is heard and understood, distances seem to shrink, loneliness is eased, and hope has a chance to shine again.
“Gói Ấm Tết” also serves as a platform for Multimedia Communication students to demonstrate social responsibility, initiative, and creativity in community-based communication. Every gesture of care and every small action contributes to creating a warmer and more meaningful Tet for disadvantaged individuals.
Let’s take a look at some memorable moments from the “Gói Ấm Tết” Project:
